I walked into Starbucks headed to a golf tournament and saw a man in uniform. So I went over and said to him, “Hey, thank you for keeping our country safe.” He looked at me and said,
“I appreciate those words – Sometimes it feels like no one notices.”
Then I jumped in line, and he follows and I ordered my drink and looked back at him and said I want to buy your drink today! He was shocked, amazed, thankful, and appreciative that I wanted to do something for him.
What happened next was surprising. We ended up having a 10-minute conversation about life. Generosity opens the door to meeting new people and new conversations. One simple act of kindness brought such joy to my day. I know God blesses those who give with the right intention but somehow I shot one of the best golf rounds of my life.
